Trafton Crane, like his art, is also not as he appears… the former mail carrier is usually pretty quiet despite his loud mohawk and large smile.
During the 27 years he worked at the US Post Office, Trafton dabbled in nature photography and held on to psychedelic paintings and drawings from his younger years. After discovering epoxy resin in 2020, he decided in 2021 to pursue his passion for art full-time.
While constantly coming up with new ideas, he still enjoys going through the dozens of unfinished art projects from 10, 20, even 30 years ago - especially since they are now being completed and shared in a way he never imagined.
Some of Trafton’s methods will remain secret, but he will reveal that mixing typical art media in with things commonly found in or outside of a home is oddly part of how he achieves his awestriking multisensory effects; anyone with an appreciation for nature and the unexpected should be captivated by his work.
Nature is what sustains his glow and influences Trafton’s art - he creates at his home in the Black Forest of Franktown, Colorado where he lives with his wife and tabby cat.
